North West Regional Youth Committee
Campaign Plan 2008

* Work with branches to recruit Branch Youth Officers and establish Branch Youth Committees

* To provide support and advice for NW branches in recruiting and developing young activists

* News letter twice a year

* Organise Anti Far Right event in Manchester, April 2008

* Interact with other unions regarding youth issues

* TUC Speakers in Schools – Get Speakers into schools

* Write and develop youth page on North West Regional website

* Consider running a youth forum event in North West

* Regional Youth school on campaigning and communications

* Actively support CWU campaigns on affordable housing, agency workers and Trade Union Freedom Bill

* Raise political awareness with youth members in the region and encourage young activists to become more involved in decisions affecting public life.

The plan is ambitious but achievable and sets out our campaign priorities for 2008.
