This is to give early notice to Branches, Safety Reps and Regional Health and Safety Forums of the 2009 National Hazards Conference (the 20th) which runs from 10-12 July at the Manchester University, City Centre Campus, Sackville Street. The conference venue is at the heart of Manchester city centre, a few minutes walk from Piccadilly station. A multi-story car park is adjacent to the campus site for delegates who travel by car. Delegates with mobility difficulties can park on campus. The Hazards Conference is the UK’s biggest educational and campaigning event for trade union safety representatives and activists. Every year over 500 safety reps attend the conference which is a mixture of workshops, discussions and lectures by keynote speakers, running from Friday evening to Sunday lunchtime. The Greater Manchester Hazards Centre has again been delegated to organise the event on behalf of the National Hazards Campaign. The National Hazards Conference presents a great opportunity to meet other people, Safety Reps, Safety Campaigners and Experts, HSE & LA Inspectors, safety law experts, safety lawyers etc who are all interested in health and safety, many with years of experience. It is the leading annual event for trade union safety reps and safety officers. With a vast selection of workshops, plus information meetings and plenaries, there is something for everyone. Delegates can choose their Workshops and campaign debate from the list on the application form. Below you can download details ofthis event, including Conference Booking Forms and the Hazards Conference Sponsorship Appeal Form. Hazards is an important and very worthwhile Safety campaigning organisation. The CWU HQ Health, Safety & Environment Department will once again be sponsoring the event. As ever the Hazards campaign Conference Organisers will need financial support and they are asking organisations, branches and individuals to consider this appeal positively.
