The CWU General Secretary, Dave Ward spoke this morning at Labour’s annual conference held in Liverpool during the debate on the parties industrial strategy.
Reminding all delegates that the Post Office was in crisis and in need of saving. Initiatives such as the formation of a Post Bank and a Universal Service Obligation is necessary in order to save it. Then, to resounding applause, he called for the re-nationalisation of Royal Mail
He also highlighted the need for a true super-fast broadband service being available to every household in the UK, and that this should be managed by a company that pays decent wages and has trade union representation such as BT.
