For the second year running, the leader of the Labour Party, Jeremy Corbyn has addressed the CWU Annual Conference.
To a tumult ious welcome, followed by several ‘group’ photos with the President, Vice President and General Secretary and the whole of the Conference delegates; Jeremy’s speech was met with a standing ovation.
Jeremy Corbyn made it clear from the outset that he was fully in support of Trade Unions and said he would be present at the 12th May TUC organised demonstration in London.
He discussed issues of privatisation, poverty and homelessness, and the general cruelty of this Tory government’s policies. He pledged that Labour would ensure the return of Royal Mail and Trains to public ownership and that the inequality of austerity will be rolled back and ended.
General Secretary, Dave Ward spoke after his speech, thanking him for his continued support for the CWU in particular and for that of the whole Trade Union movement.
