Asked by the BBC journalist to comment on a negative and banal statement, "Some people might think this is Labour not learning lessons of the past!", Dennis’ reply took the journalist and the CWU’s General Secretary, Dave Ward by total surprise with his whitty but nonetheless accurate portrayal of TV journalists:
